I agree. To require that they close right at the high of the day seems arbitrary (and maybe meaningless). You might as well specify that they hit the median price at noon. (Actually, it's a little-known fact that it's been absolutely impossible to lose money with 100% of the stocks that hit the median price at noon for any 10 consecutive days in March during any one of the past five years, if you exclude stocks that remained at the same price during the day. This fact isn't entirely useless. All those hyperactive day traders whose portfolios are down for the year might find it instructive. If they had turned their attention to this remarkable list of stocks, they'd have more money now.)
