Hmm, interesting questions. What is your area of professional expertise? Anyhow, I believe all other vendors are currently bottlenecked way below gigabit ethernet rates at other points in their systems, therefore moving to gigabit ethernet would not improve their performance. There is nothing special about writing to gigabit ethernet except to have drivers that support it properly. Most of Novell's current advantage appears to be in the architecture of the product and the nano-kernel it runs on.
