PARTICIPANTS FROM ALL OVER EUROPE ATTEND TIS' INTERNATIONAL
CENSUS SEMINAR
Governments all over the world are required to hold periodic population census' in their countries.This need caught the eye of TiS, who, two years ago, decided to establish a unique Government Projects Division, to be focused on census projects.
Among its many activities in the census arena, the Division decided to hold an International Census Seminar for European statistical offices, where senior officials from central statistics offices could share their experiences and problems and listen to TiS' unique solutions.

During the seminar, Prof. Yeshurun from the Tel-Aviv University,
Chairman of the Israeli Committee for Information Technology, and TiS
Chief Scientist, exposed advanced recognition methodology and TiS' Chief Operating Officer, Amit Ben-Zvi, shared TiS' experience with similar large-scale projects worldwide. In addition, Hagit Halperin, TiS International Sales Director, presented the Turkey census case study, while Tal Marom, Director of Government Projects Division and Mr. Ben Zvi shared TiS' experience regarding census projects worldwide.
TiS' hands-on experience includes the 1998 census in Turkey, where TiS
processed over 650,000 forms per diem (in a peak day) during 30 days;
South Africa's Life Insurance Company (Sunlam), which included
streamlining and updating Sanlam's over 1.8 million policy-holders' records in a month; and the Deutsche Post's verification project of over 60 million records in 6 weeks.
Till now, typical products on the market proposed only ready-made
solutions, which did not differentiate between census and other projects.
