I guess I missed out on FBN, so I'm going to buy all 40 million nodes. Then the NGI will be all mine! I'll be raking in the big bucks! These are some of the things which tipped me off to the joke (are you pulling my leg in thinking they're serious?).

WebNode.com today announced it has been granted an exclusive contract by the US Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (formerly Office of Energy Research) to raise $4 billion in funding for the new countrywide state-of-the-art fiber optic.

If a govt agency would be involved it would be the NSF not DOE.

Early adoptees of the NGI include: (list of companies)

I guess those companies were adopted by the NGI, whatever that means.

Webnode.com is a new division of BZE International, a recognized worldwide leader in e-commerce for government entities. Projects include satellite navigation, currency arbitrage systems development, and armaments deployment.

Now that's a well-diversified (and nonexistent) company.
