And AMD is announcing production of its K6 chip<< Just to add another developement, I recently read a blurb somewhere about an upgrade to Motorola's PowerPC RISC chip that pushes the speed over 533 mhz while still being relatively well-priced. Perhaps they are beeing overoptimistic, but they are rumored to be working on a 1 gigahertz chip to be released by late 1999! This could change the field of play dramatically! Well, let's hold our breath!
