Re: Platinum-User Advance Notice.

Hi Bob!

Your post raises several interesting points. I wonder if I might briefly reply, as it appears to have been generated by my mentioning Platinum E*Trade.

My assumption is that a Platinum user getting E*Trade notice, if it comes to them at the start of the opening period (apparently the norm now?), would lock in their IOI first and notify the thread second. I know I would. <g>

Folks who might then suffer would be those Platinum users who were "away from their desk" or some such, and did not get their E*Trade notice before the swarms of now-notified outsiders snuck in and snatched up their IOI opportunity.

In other words, as in most things, someone prospers, someone doesn't. I think you're right in predicting that the "window of opportunity" is going to constrict as more and more people learn how to play the game. The concept behind this thread is to help SI folks be less completely dependent on E*Trade alone (a situation that has caused considerable angst in more than one thread here), and help them to prosper.

Which, as I take it, is the general concept behind SI altogether.

It will be interesting to see how things play out, and I look forward to more "Machiavelli-ing."

Best wishes,
Tom
