The valuations of the two companies will not even out. AMZN is considerably larger than BOOK, with 1998 sales of $610.0 MM for AMZN and $61.8 MM for BOOK. Additionally, AMZN has an enormous head start, a more developed plan and a cachet that BOOK will be hard pressed to duplicate.

AMZN has a current market cap of $27.235 billion. If BOOK were assigned the same valuation, BKS' position would be worth $172.63 per share. Do you really think that is going to happen?

I do think that BKS is going to have a run up prior to the IPO, though a target of 40 seems more reasonable than 60. JMHO.
