Jon, check also if there is a place on the disk drive where they dump the stuff. It sounded as if on those corporate systems, they use their internal net to collect and store the conversation of people within 5 feet of the computer, scary.
But, wait a minute, that gives me a neat business idea, we could start and manufacture a small adaptor that goes on the box to mask the voice of the speakers. Since sound is attenuated by at least the square of the distance (slightly more if you are a basso <g>), a white noise device on the box could operate at 1/12 the employee's voice intensity and mask it. Once we have this business well established, we go the corporations and sell them a filtering device that will filter the white noise, still allowing them to snoop on their employees. Now, when these two businesses are well underway, we sell to the employees an advanced system involving directional noise cancelation technology (anti phase) which will restore their privacy. At this point in time we should be well on our way to develop a dynamic anti noise cancelation device to restore corporations' abilities to snoop on their employees.
I think we just gave birth to a completely new industry, so why don't we issue some shares in privacy.com and get going? If that one is taken we could go for snoop.com and antisnoop.com, anyone in?
