Hi Vulcan Followers: I have been posting "bits and pieces" of information on Vulcan for quite some time now, mostly in relation to the company's Newfoundland Oil Play and the Alberta Diamond play.Vulcan has several other very promising mineral prospects both in Labrador and on the island of Newfoundland.I recently recieved a one-page snapshot of the company as part of a complete informaton package which I feel would be of interest to shareholders and followers .I am going to paste a scanned copy below for all to read..hoping that it retains its original format. Here goes:
The Company
Listed on the Alberta Stock Exchange - Stock Symbol VUL Committed to aggressive exploration where quality geological opportunities exist Led by a team of dedicated professionals committed to success
The Projects
Alberta - Diamonds
100% interest in 2.16 million acres of prospective lands for diamond-bearing kimberlite in northern Alberta where Ashton Mining and Kennecott (Montello) have made separate discoveries of diamondiferous kimberlites. Potential exists for numerous kimberlite clusters. Vulcan' 5 lands cover key basement controlled structural features that may provide excellent sites for kimberlite intrusions. Portions of the Lac la Biche claim block have been flown with high resolution magnetics - data is presently being processed and interpreted - 28 targets identified for kimberlites.
Carbonear Project, Newfoundland
Zinc-Lead-Silver sedimentary sulphide potential. The exploration model is analogous to the world class Sullivan Mine in British Columbia (160,000,000 tonnes of 6% Lead, 6% Zinc and >2 oz/tonne Silver). Prospect recently drilled for first time, intersected extensive disseminated mineralization including higher grade zones of 1.2m - 1.58% Zn, 4.10% Pb; .6m - 1.44% Zn, 1.63% Pb; 3.7m - 1.00% Zn, Pb combined. Recent drilling demonstrates property's excellent potential, more geophysics to be carried out prior to further drilling.
West Coast Newfoundland - Petroleum
30,000 hectare petroleum permit near a recent discovery by Hunt Oil in the newly developing onshore western Newfoundland oil play. Recent test hole to 500 feet on Flat Bay permit intersected 50 feet of oil bearing formation indicating the potential for oil pools on the permit. Seismic program completed in 1998 - drilling planned in 1999. 1.2 million acres in three offshore parcels - very large structures and leads identified.
Goose South Property - Labrador
Magnetite-titanium deposit with grab samples up to 8.67% TiO2 and 50.20 Fe oxides over 850m by 600m area. Large aeromagnetic anomalies, 9.0 x 2.4 km and 7.0 km x 2.0 km with potential to host large tonnage magnetite-titanium body as well as copper-nickel sulphides.
