It's kind of ironic that the very same tactic that the government is claiming MSFT used unfairly to build market share, ie giving away their products, is given in the newsletter (if I understand you correctly) as an argument against the government's case since the increase in Linux market share is due in large part to the fact that it is free. I don't follow that logic at all. Are all businesses supposed to start offering all products for free in order to get market share? I don't want to get into some political discussion cause I really haven't thought about the issues that much, but this did strike me as a bit odd.
Anyway, back to the question at hand. Linux, I think, is the name of a free operating system, begun by a man name Linux, but modified by programmers throughout the world as time goes by to become better. No one owns it, but it grows. Supposedy it grows because it is free AND it is a grass roots movement for the people and by the people and big businesses are starting to pay attention to it and even writing applications for it. That is all I know.
Can anyone address its relevancy to PCTR under the assumption (possibly a bad assumption), that Linux could become the operating system of choice for gamers, or even more? Thanks. Ted
