I may eventually move into a rural area that does not have ISDN.
I looked into the Direct PC some time ago and do find it interesting.
I may have no choice but to use for high bandwith down the road and I will be monitoring the technology closely.
I'll check out the Cube thread.

As for now it is still too expensive for the masses, and I could only afford a limited service. Interesting thing I now get up to 400 hours of ISDN use per month without per minute charges. The phone company never told me, but I'm not gonna complain. I won't use 400 hours but essentialy I look at it as unlimited time use for $68 per month. Plus that is simultaneous voice and data and Digital reliability.

I see Sattellite doing well in rural areas, but what happens when xDSL hits? Or even Cable Modems? Things are gonna get interesting.
