"ode to avearge joe."
Firstly, joe, the bins are full of wheat and feed barley, so I would suggest lentins and canola this year. The land is a little dry out Lumsden way however so you may be stuck with wheat and summer fallow yet again. Were you at the rally in Regina recently? I hear there were 40 farmers complaining that the $C1.0B in tax dollars paid on behalf of Canada's real tax payers didn't sit well. Oh well, dads land is not what it used to be.
Anyway, I gather you are on the hook for a lot of dads money with Kensington. I thought I had better fill you in on some data I have since I would not want you losing any of your investment. (Private mail me again with some sort of address and I'd be glad to send you a photocopy gratis via snailmail)
I was driving along the road near Estevan one day when a grain truck dropped something white off the back. I pulled over to avoid it an lo and behold it was something called "Kensington Resources Ltd., Fort a la Corne, Sakatchewan, Scoping Study, Project 2406, December,1995." by Fluor Daniel Wright. Usually, I don't pull over when pre-feasibility studies are dropped off of trucks but I've always had a soft spot for feasibility studies by FDW.
Anyway, what I want to pass on is the results of this study in case you haven't come across it through adequate disclosure by the party that has actually had it on their files for four years. Isn't the internet great????
The report was produced to determine what it would take to make a pipe out Prince Albert way economic. Three scenarios were looked at a 20,000 tpd, 40,000 tpd and 60,000 tpd operation.
Common to all scenarios was the need to remove 100 vertical metres of overburden. This overburden is saturated with groundwater meaning that a series of groundwater wells are required around the pit. This resulted in the need to remove 188 ,273 and 332 million tonnes of oeverburden respectively prior to reaching the pipe. Problem is, the pipe had better hold at least $200/tonne value to make this all worthwhile.
By the way, the estimated capital cost for the three scenarios was $484.2M, $649.5M and $808.4m.
Email me at Duke_NukemU308.hotmail.com if anyone else would like a copy of this report.
Joe, what kensington has found in those pipes is the square root of f... all and I'm afriad you've blown dads money the same way remittence men have done on the praires for a century.
How about opening up an 18 hole course up Elbow way?? Who knows, when you cut the holes in the green you may find kimberlite.
