Important AppleCare Alert.

1) My boss at Tekserve told me that, as of today, we are no longer writing *new* AppleCare warranties on Apple products whose original warranties, or existing AppleCare agreements, have expired.

2) Further, Apple may soon discontinue two-year AppleCare agreements in favor of single-year coverage.

The rationale is that Apple is simply losing too much money with the present setup.

My advice to those with existing warranty/AppleCare is to immediately extend that warranty for the maximum two years.

IMO, an extended warranty is a *must* on any laptop of value.

I also consider the currently priced two-year AppleCare contracts on iMacs, Monitors and Desktop/Towers to be a good value.
