I think everyone misses the obvious on streaming. Increases in bandwidth will negate the problems of streaming no matter who is doing it. DirectTV can provide me with true realtime streaming of several hundred channels of video and audio for the same price as an internet connection which cannot. At work we used to watch realtime streaming of satellite launches without RealNetworks or QuickTime simply because we had adequate Internet bandwidth. Streaming is really a hardware problem; investing money in a short-term software walk-around is a waste in the long run.
