Taiwan's Advanced Semicon March Sales NT$1.41B Vs NT$1.33B

TAIPEI -- Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc. (Q.ASE), the world's second-largest independent packager of integrated circuits, said Friday that March sales rose to NT$1.41 billion ($1=NT$33.123), from NT$1.33 billion in March 1998.

Sales for the first three months of 1999 fell slightly to NT$3.64 billion from NT$3.66 billion in the year-earlier period, the company said in a statement.

Most listed companies on the Taiwan Stock Exchange are required to disclose their March sales figures by April 10.

Advanced Semiconductor Engineering shares finished NT$3 higher at NT$81 Friday.
