Hi wily

I'm becoming less enamored with IE5 every day. I decided to download it at home--that was quick and painless, I went running and when I came back it was done. However, I wasn't aware I couldn't get 128 bit encryption, that's only available if you live in the US or Canada. I got the 40 bit encryption and I've been having problems with secure sites ever since. Heck I even had a problem in Microsoft's site when I was writing them using their "Contact Us" feature, I'd hit submit and then the page would come back with an 'Error'and an annoying warning about some sites require 128 bit security encryption--Grrrrrrrrrrr is right. 40 bit isn't cutting it in a lot of secure web sites; never had this problem with IE4.

I got the uninstall feature on mine, I'm just wondering if I uninstall it now will I lose my bookmarks. IE5 handles favorites a bit different than IE4 and I wonder if they were significantly changed or what. When I downloaded it, it also imported all of my Netscape Navigator bookmarks and created a nice little alphabitized file--OK I was impressed at first now I'm getting a little annoyed at some of their 'undocumented features'.

I think you can probably download IE5 again and this time you will get the uninstall capability that wasn't available in the beta.

Lou
