THat reminds me a bit about the 2nd offering EGGS did recently. The EGG stock behaved weird after the offering @ $13 has been announced. It hit $20 briefly. After that, it seems to be a better short. Some other 2nd offerings, like DCLK did one back in November, has a disastrous effect on shorts. DCLK got out some 3M at $39 or so, and up it went thereafter. The ability to do a successful equity placement (not a convertible debt) and added equity was treated positively by the street, many stocks went up and didn't look back. That makes me thinking when I read about secondary placements. C.
