Gustave, you must have inhaled what Clinton never did. :-)

1. .<<< Remember that President R. Reagan was responsible for your massive budget deficit: when he sat in the White House, the U.S. deficit was in the $billion bracket and he pulled it up into the $trillion range! >>>

President Reagan supply side economics which resulted in dramatically lower tax rates nearly tripled revenues to the government. Tip O'neil and company simply increased spending fourfold. Reagan did spend money on defense. Thank God!if he hadn't we wouldn't have the stealth fighter, the tomahawk missile or the quality military people we do today. Besides building up our military directly resulted in ending the cold war. Sounds like a good return on our investment. Why don't you examine what Tip O'socialist Neil's billions did to reducing poverty? Zilch!

2. <<<Savings & Loan fiasco? How many billions of $ did it cost the US taxpayer?>>>

The savings and loan laws were changed by a Democratically controlled congress. The most egregious crimes committed regarding this issue were by Democratic politicians. Remember the "Keating Five".

3. <<<Clinton's currently reshaping --I should say reinventing-- the US foreign agenda/policy for the next century.>>>

If you call getting the U.S. mired in a civil war reiventing foreign policy, that takes real genious huh? Clinton is simply reacting to save his pathetic legacy. He's also trying to deflect the nation away from his real crimes. Those involving the transfer of america's most sensitive secrets to the communist chinese government. It's called treason in most places.

4. <<<Yet, this time, the US seem to behave as in a preemptive manoeuver: bombing a jingoist, ethnic-minded regime before it starts to spread around in the region... >>>>

There was virtually no indication that the current strife was going to spread into other countries. And if we were really concerned, we could have developed a "Balkan Shield" of troops around the region instead of bombing the serbian people. The serbian people are not America's enemy.

Your 2 cents is barely worth a penny. :-)
