Technically, the egg.

First, eggs per se have been part of multicellular creatures since way back before birds (or animals with backbones) were invented.

Second, assuming the more narrow definition of "chicken egg", this egg would have been laid by a "pre-chicken", and would have contained mutated DNA that created the differences that we have come to know, respect, and enjoy as "Chicken". The actual process of genetic isolation, and more specifically, the lack of viable offspring between the pre-chicken and chicken (one way of describing what makes a new species) is rather gradual under most circumstances.
