I think you have a skewed East Coast perspective. While it is true most boarders still use traditional bindings, Switch step-ins are becoming wildly popular in the West and I get a lot of questions about mine. They were virtually nonexistent last year. Burton is a much bigger presence where you are than here, and they have had trouble perfecting their step-ins.

In any case, MRKRs short term increases will be from additional ski binding sales not snowboards or stepins. Long term, Santa Cruz and Sims are just a way to deliver the step in bindings, which will be standard equipment in 5 years.

The control from step-ins is just as good if not better than regular since they function like baseless bindings.
