Thanks Doug,
Sounds like you got your stuff together. Incidentally, I got a quote on Friday for the Kohler 8.5kw at around $3700. My wiring (which is already in) ran about $1500...which only runs my office and selected appliances. Still gotta figure out the fuel strategy here. When you talked with your Gas company...they said that Gas flow would last about a week in a power outage scenario? I need to check with my Gas company on this. What I would like to do is hookup to natural gas as a primary and still develop the propane backup scenario.

Thanks for the fire-related info. This is of definite concern to me in my planning. Overall...I'm planning for a maximum week power outage scenario and many temporary power shortages...if it goes greater than a week...I'm heading for my 'bugout' location.

From the sounds of others...it looks like availabilities are getting tighter. June delivery on my generator didn't seem to be a problem, but I will reinforce this. I really think we will see a squeeze in the 2nd half...with the panic being worse than the problem itself.

Thanks for all the good info here...<bobr>
