That's exactly right, there is no more 'bearish' there is only 'bullish', but you have to be sensitive to the degree of 'bullish' a piece of news might be.

Examples:

Long bond rates go up: Mildly Bullish
Amazon.com announces auction site: WILDLY BULLISH
A/D Line falls: Mildly Bullish
Yahoo issues debt paper: WILDLY BULLISH
U.S. in two shooting wars: Mildly Bullish
Yahoo says Broadcast.com deal loses money for a year: WILDLY BULLISH
Polar Ice Caps melt: Mildly Bullish
G2Net announces split: WILDLY BULLISH
Anthrax Epidemic: Mildly Bullish
Maria B. says there's stock to buy in size: WILDLY BULLISH

And so on, my advice is go long MSFT, CSCO, YHOO, AOL et al.
