Jim, even if you don't like overclocking, a 400MHz CeleronA is fast enough for the vast majority of users. And most of those who actually need more speed probably couldn't care less about saving money on a K6-III vs. a PIII. What is your source for "later Celerons and PIIs have the CPUID imbedded."? Every Intel CPU has an embedded "CPUID" which identifies the processor type (e.g. 486, Pentium, etc.). If you mean "Processor Serial Number", everything at the Intel web site indicates that it's specific to the PIII. Craig
