mark you are too much. thanks for the links. No I hadn't been there yet and really hadn't thought of it. Guess I figured if MS had intended for me to uninstall ie5 they would have given me wings <g>.

The only possibility I see from these links is the one about using the attrib command to un-hide the backup files. Maybe this will work, maybe the files are gone, maybe it won't work. I checked my DOS manual and it doesn't seem like attrib has that power, but I've never used it and it's kind of complicated and my DOS is not that good.

I'll work on it for a coupla years and let you know <g>.
