Sam, I am hardly a scholar or a historian, so I can't really comment as to the veracity of the article. What I find interesting is the increasing interest I see in mainstream media in addressing real issues regarding spirituality.
What I mean by that is a willingness to comment on issues and debate, and not just focus on sensationalism. Weather either side is right or wrong doesn't matter to an extent. I believe that in a general sense, the search for truth is just as important as truth itself. Once people begin an earnest search, where they are willing to address the real issues, they will eventually find truth that is meaningful to them.
If society continues to show a real interest in learning about spirituality, and the media continues to feed into that interest in a real way, many people will come to realize their own truths. Although it offends some, debate is good, questioning things is good. It helps in seperating the wheat from the chaffe. Unless something is examined, it is never really understood.
