All I did was go to the "start" button, and went to the shut down on the menu. Do you do a 'halt' in a shell? I do this with the multitasking win95, mac all the time. I got no warning!

---so this would be ok, though it says in the error message to run fsck without -a or -p options?, also to clarify- are you using the 'hda' in the arguement in place of my hd# (hdc5)?

The partition was done wrong somehow, but still so that it worked- I will get the error message--
