red,
here is something for Aber shareholders to chew on:
Regardless of the outcome of the feasibility study due out shortly, given the proposed scale of operation for Diavik, I see no one has discussed the limitations of infra-structure.....there is only so much diesel fuel that can be moved by rail to Hay River....there is limited storage capacity there....there are physical limits has to how much fuel can be trucked into the NWT.....When the fuel requirements for Ekati and Yellowknife are added up, the system is at near capacity....from this perspective alone, It appears that Franco Nevada has made another long term investment....who woulda thunk heh?....until a year round road is built from Yellowknife to a summer port facility on the arctic coast(where fuel can be brought in by ship and stored for later truck transport), many NWT resource developments over a certain size will have to be developed sequentially...and that is a fact of life folks....
regards,
teevee
