Mark,

How much would these new units cost? I just received my new set-top box from the other evil empire - TCI cable. For $50 bucks a month, you get 75 channels, 35-40 music only channels and about 50 pay per view channels that runs about 12-15 movies every week (recent titles) at thirty minute increments. The menu system is actually pretty good - picture in picture while you surf through the channels. Each show has a detailed description of what is playing and you can see what is going to be playing on all channels every day for the next two weeks in 1/2 hour increments. Pay per view movies are $3.95 (a little more than the video store, but no check out, return or late fees which we often rack up). Payment system is nailed down. Everything is digital and the quality is high. Not bad, I just hate to get bilked out of $50/month for cable, especially when TCI comes to your door and states that its in and you're going to take it or nothing. I'm still thinking about getting "the dish".

Scott.
