Wharton didn't really teach analysis of companies. They mostly taught Modern Portfolio Theory, which stated that analysis was meaningless as those on Wall Street are already doing it for us. <g> Which is why we have seen three generations of analysts hit Wall Street who haven't got a clue about how to analyze a company. <g>

I find it sad that even given the formal training you missed the wisdom in MPT. FYI, 80%+ of mutual funds lagged the S&P last year. So, if I may ask, have you averaged better than the market in the long run (not in specific bull or bear market segments) in your investment career? Since I have no way to verifying your answer, I will accept it on faith.
