There are several traffic people up
in the Columbia Building here in Seattle
--you walk by their window when you visit
the observation floor. A neat spot for
observing traffic (although I believe
they rely on other reports rather then making a
visual observation) and a great location for
watching the weather.

Weather is supposed to be the number one
reason people use the internet...has to be
somebody out there who is clever enough to
exploit that...so far, I am not impressed
with what the web has to offer...weather.com
is okay, but the forecasts have no detail.
Was not even able to find today's forecast,
just a broadbrush five day forecast which
begins with tomorrow (nothing for today?!).

There are several good sites for presentations
of model guidance...here is one...
iges.org

One of the young forecasters here at our office
maintains our web page, I think she has done
a nice job of assembling all the relevant links--
can still take awhile to dig down to specific data,
but that's the net for you.
