I rode my Burton 155 last Tuesday at Wachusett. All the rentals there are Switch step ins. Okemo has a 2.100' vertical Sugerbush 2,650', whats the big deal? It took me a good long time to get down the hill. My friends daughter just got back from Colorado. Non step ins " don't exist on the hill" . Clikker was big where she was. Marker was considered a $10 stock before they dropped $25m on their DNR purchase. They picked up $10m cash in the deal so their net cost for DNR was $15m. Look at the chart. The stock dropped $50m because of the Sims fiasco. Whether the DNR step in flys or not, and, worst case senario Marker has to pay Sims $10m, the stock should be at $7, just on the skibinding business. If you then assign a value to the Santa Cruz business and the DNR step in is modestly sucessful then we're up to $10 a share. If the arbitrator says nobody pays anybody nuthin. Now we be at $12 a share. Sims has to pay Marker $10m , $13 a share. Now if the DNR step in is a hit and three million boarders opt for DNR boots and bindings 3m x $200 wholesale = $600,000.000 sales. Add the Snowboard business 200,000 x $200 = $40,000,000 then add $80,000,000 for the ski end of it and you have a growth stock. Granted all 3m riders will not upgrade all in one year. on the longer runs it is not a big deal to strap a binding , providing one is loose.
Marker stock over reacted to the downside because of the Sims lawsuit.
Riding in New England it is hard to believe Marker has over 50% of this years sales. Solomen located in Massachusetts sells well locally ! I look for Marker on the hill, theyr'e hard to spot. My source is good 'bout the 50% + .
The DNR step in is winning races in Europe. IF it takes off, and the Santa Cruz liecense is good, and if it snows, and the Japanese Winter olympics fires up that markert, MRKR is an easy $20 stock. Lots of variables here. Different senarios will cause different stock prices. All of them are up in my view, the question is how high. Time will tell.
BTW how is Killington midweek ? Also Jay Peak ? Bromly ?
