Joey,

I'm still in Rational, and in for the long haul with my base
holding (though I actually did a small earnings play at around
last earnings where I bought some more before earnings and sold
after).

I feel comfortable with earnings, and believe they will follow
their trend by beating estimates with a couple of cents (and
possibly guiding up future estimates). The recent downturn and
fluctuations I believe is due to:
1) the very quick runup to the thirties, some consolidation was
needed.
2) the insider sales.
3) the lack of any really important news since the suite
announcements.
My only negative is that I believe there could be some confusion
among customers that they now need to buy entire suites, and that
the products can't be bought individually any longer (which is not
the case).

I do believe their fundamental business is doing good, and I've
heard indications that this is the case. We'll probably have
a stock price in the thirties again before earnings.

Don't take my word for it though - I also own and believe(d) in
INPR (Inprise) which I don't think will have a good day tomorrow
(and haven't had in a long time)...The CEO and CFO just resigned without explanation, typically indicating something is seriously wrong...

Best,

/Hans-Erik

P.S. If earnings would be really bad, isn't it about time they
preannounced ?
