Richard, I would have to agree with you as NASI getting overpriced if it goes to $5 . I believe that the future of prostatic carcinoma treatment will definitely have a place for radioactive seed implants in conjunction with accelerator irradiation (combined precision irradiation) which will be driven by todays managed care health environment. The favorable aspects of this treatment is its considerably lower price compared to radical prostatectomy, the less side effects compared with surgery and patients preference of ionizing radiation over conventional surgery (TURP). Unfortunately there is a MAJOR rate limiting step to the utilization of seed implant irradiation in conjunction with linear accelerator irradiation . Presently, patients with urological symptoms are seen by and treated by urologists. Guess what almost all urologists will recommend after diagnosing prostatic Ca wrt treatment? ...Surgery! Why? Because thats what urologists do. Radioactive implants clearly the better treatment (at least thats what a single peer reviewed medical paper will conclude, currently in press) is performed by radiation oncologists which generally will NOT be consulted. If a therapeutic radiologist is consulted, say goodbye to a lucrative surgical procedure for the urologist. Remember....you go to Midas, you get a muffler. There are only a limited number of centers that are doing seed implants. Not surprisingly, the majority of these patients are not referred by other physicians but initiated to the savvy patient who has researched this new treatment on their own through the Internet or otherwise. Also, more medical publications will be necesary before seed implant irradiation will be widely received in the medical community. Presently the Old School has regarded unequivically radical Prostatectomy the treatment of choice for many prostatic Ca's of different stages. It will be some time coming before there is acceptance of newer treatment regimens. Unless there are any other surprises however the future of this product is very strong. If the competition is curtailed and NASI develops a major position in this field, this stock will continue to do even better than it historically has performed already. For those who are in already and have realized a two bagger, congrats. its been a long time coming for a deserving stock I am very interested in what will happen over the next two weeks after the initial pop it has just taken last Thur and Fri. How much might be left for any newcomers? or will the next run quickly be neutralized by profit taking?
Comments anyone?
