From my perspective, oil should stay strong right thru the Y2K. From what I hear the third world producers are not even close to being Y2K compliant and this may very well lead to a giant spike in the futures as reality sets in later this year.

A speculative play might be an very cheap futures contract expiring in the first Q '00, a safer play would be the domestic oils...just MHO
