Dear Mismanners,
Only a savage would drink "hard stuff" with dinner? In my vast travels of the world, I discovered that whisky is for heroes. In many places in the East the host honors his guests by serving tumblers of Johnnie Walker Black neat, and the guest honors the host by polishing them off at a gulp and saying something like Banzai, Monzai, or Whew! and praying for a short dinner. The gracious host provides a 5th or Quart per guest. In Russia, neat peppered vodka is guzzled like wine. Blast the man who crumples before the toasts are done. He had better prepare himself by chugalugging salad oil before swigging vodka during dinner to get ready. Are these men savages? I think not. Heroes every one!
