Microsoft builds a streaming audio server that they virtually give away and a streaming audio client that they actually give away. They include the client with their OS as part of the bundled browser. What more do they need to buy or build?

I'll admit, MS would probably love to have the market share that Real has, but it's doubtful that the FTC would let them get it by buying Real -- and even more doubtful that Real would sell out to their cross-lake rivals.
