I did my "research" on selling jewelry via auctions such as Ebay or Amazon. This is not a scientific survey but it appears there are always more sellers than buyers. Many higher end products never receive the minimum bid amount. I conclude that many using this format are looking for an unrealistic price and that the majority of items for sale go unsold. I also believe this is true for any category on these sites. If my survey is close to accurate, how is any site going to produce enough revenue to warrant the market cap? What am I missing?
