This is really for women, but okay for you to read.
The really high IQ women keep it concealed until the high IQ male marries ostensibly down to them, then she carefully trains his admiring ass to perform as she desires. I need not tell you how, just check with the Sweet Potato Queens.
If a woman wants admiration, she should not choose a dog unless she is willing to train it carefully. Select an admiring male human with good economic prospects (few dogs have good economic prospects) and train him carefully. A man can be trained to come, to sit, to down in a very few minutes. Once he knows "down" he can be trained to "stay" by using the appropriate rewards. Some men will stay for food (but need exercise to keep them from getting too fat). Some men will stay for sex, but it is usually necessary to teach them "roll over" before things work well. Some men will insist on dominance and will insist you go down for them. Men can usually be made to "stay" by hiding their clothes and romping with them in bed several times a day. Some women can train themselves so that this is even pleasurable to them. Some few men can even be trained to return home after wandering over square miles of a city. For instructions in this, read Elisabeth Marshall Thomas's, The Hidden Life of Dogs and extrapolate from Mischa to your man. Of course, Mischa tought his wife (Marie) to run around greater Boston nude with him. So be careful. Establish dominance so he will go down for you whenever told.
