I just don't see any reason to add MSFT to the DJ... The Dow represents what it represents; 30 industrial corporations. Would the purpose of adding MSFT be to make it go up faster? Why? There are already too many complaints that too few big cap companies distort the S&P and NAZ indexes. The addition of MSFT to the DJ would overpower most of the other companys performance. The NAZ and Dow now quite often move in different directions - IMO that's good as it gives me a feel for what different market segments are doing. With MSFT in the Dow, a strong day would move both indexes strongly in the same direction even if most others in the index were down. I hope it doesn't happen.
