Hutchinson suspensions are not used in CD or DVD drives in any form. There is a chance that some magneto/optical drive could use a Hutch suspension, but that is another medium.

Hutchinson is entirely dependent on Hard Disk Drive sales. These will be found mostly in PC's and enterprise. All the Internet stuff will help, but we need strong PC sales.

This discussion of VCR's with disk drives is a new market, which may or may not happen. It's not going to effect Hutchinson sales for the near term.

I think it will be a long time before Hutch regains $51, but I hope I'm wrong as I've taken a pretty big position. I think the sell off was overdone, but some correction was due. If you believe in this company, I'd average down and then try to take a profit after at least 30 days, which would also give a tax loss on your first position.

I think there is every reason for all companies to pre-announce any problems now as they've all had the stage set for disappointment. Will these announcements have further impact? I don't know, but I think Hutchinson is good value at this level and you will make money over the long run.
