Thanks Rich,

For responding to my problem. I suggested that he get a new cable for the CD ROM. It's an ATAPI drive, and I thought that the old one had cratered. So he bought a new one, but the new one is also invisible, we updated the drivers, and the autoexec.bat and config.sys to no avail. What has intrigied me is that I have seen several messages here in the last few days about people losing their CD-ROMS. And I still don't have a clue.

Thanks
Scott
