ANALOG DEVICES DSP ENABLES T1 CAPACITY IN PALM-SIZED MODEM
BANK - FYI
Copyright (C) 1999 TeleChoice, Inc.

April 5, 1999 -- Analog Devices, Inc. today announced a
new DSP that enables 24 modem ports, the equivalent of a
T1 line, in less than nine square inches. The introduction
of the ADSP-21mod970-510 Internet Gateway Processor widens
ADI's lead in the high-density remote access IC market.
Since introducing the world's first single-chip remote
access server modem in September 1997, the ADSP-21mod870,
ADI has doubled modem density every nine months.

Looks like the decision of SSPI made the right decison to not enter the RAS market. The maturity in knowing market niches where you can compete and lead is imo another sign of the maturation of management.
