(Off topic) You're still wet behind the ears

(a) Startups cease to offer IPO's in a recession in order to raise capital. There is no capital for them period. Capital costs for established corporations decrease. Thus my point was not apriori but based upon observation of previous recession/depressions. Your reasoning with regard to capital markets from the point of view of a startup is speculative reasoning at its worst. Suggested reading --- anything about capital investment and formation during the Great Depression.

(b) If you don't think Gates controls MSFT then I would suggest you go back and read some of the books published 30 years ago on how little a % of the stock is required to "own" a company.

Apologies to thread and to you since I guess some of these books are older than you are. So you are an MBA? Thank our lucky stars that MBA's no longer control the corporate action and power has shifted back toward engineering and innovation. Or are you responsible for the "retro" look? (see 1950's and tail fins)
