Anyone who subscribes to the Peter Lynch theory of investing has gotta love Fantom. First of all, their vacuums are way cool and they really work, they almost make you look forward to using them. Then, when you look at their finances, they look like one of those early discoveries that's just got to win. Increasing sales and earnings, a P/E of about 11, no debt,a market leading position in the new bagless vacuum market and they're as yet undiscovered by the broker/analyst community. In the classic Lynchian fashion, I came across the company when I was shopping for a vacuum. Went to Best Buy intending to buy one of the better known brands like Eureka but couldn't resist the Fantom (it is beautifully designed). After I used it and discovered how well it works, I decided to look at the company's financials and discovered a very nice story indeed. When I called my broker to see what he had to say, it turned out he was unfamiliar with the company but had just bought one of their vacuums too. This one looks like a winner to me.
