Have any At&T share holders seen the short article on last week's Barron's? It is strange that AOl is requesting government regulation so that they can use AT&T's cable network essentially for free, which At&T spent tons of money to establish. As AT&T share holders, I think this is outrageous. If AOl and others want to invite government interference, why don't they ask government to regulate online access charge so we can get for $9.95 per month rather than the current $19.95 per month charged by AOL?

With a market cap of $150 BILLION, I think AOL should spent its own money to establish its own cable lines if they think they need them. Trying to get almost free from AT&T is not the right thing to do, and it will hurt AT&T's stock price which all At&T share holders should be concerned. I think all AT&T share holders should contact their senates and congress man so that we will not get government interference in the extremely competitive internet service area. After all, AT&T does not have a sky high P/E ratio as many of the internet companies. Internet companies need to make the necessary investment and justify their stratospheric P/E by providing some earning to the investors.
