Not exactly.

Some credit cards offer extended warranties, some don't. It's not all Amex, or all MasterCard or all Visa. Not even all Gold cards. Each customer must read the fine print for the particular card they use for the particular CPU purchase (and no split payment, some cash-some card). They are far more limited than AppleCare.

Also, each credit company has a different deal and it is often the customer's responsibility to pay for the repair and file the reimbursement forms. Credit card warranties are complex, some require advance registration, some apply to only certain cards, etc.

AppleCare is simple and straightforward, the way to get service at Apple's expense is clear - bring the unit to Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Let the buyer beware.
