I checked several websites of ski hills. There are many mountains with bigger vertical drops then Kilington. The biggest I found so far is Steamboat Springs Colorado at 3,650' or sumthin. Thats a big 500' difference. The main point is we have real mountains on the East Coast, unliKe Ohio, where a vertical is 260', or Michigan 600' We have hills with 2,100' 2,600' and 3,150. Just because the Rockies have peaks of 11,500', if they sit on an 8,000' plateau, they are no bigger then our 4,000' mountains in Vermont that get down close to sea level.
