RESEARCH ALERT - Qualcomm raised April 5, 1999 12:12 PM NEW YORK, April 5 (Reuters) - First Albany Corp. analyst Raj Srikanth raised his rating on wireless equipment maker Qualcomm Inc. QCOM Monday to accumulate from neutral. -- In a research note, Srikanth said he boosted the rating "despite a 57 percent appreciation in the stock since the company announced the settlement of their patent dispute with" Sweden's Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson ERICY "since he strongly believes Qualcomm has positioned itself as a significant player in the global wireless industry."
