Hubert, as a Gov't agency, the SEC is immune from any law suit, punitive or otherwise for damages you incurred due to their negligence, gross or otherwise.

This imunity of all legal recourse makes the SEC (like all Federal Gov't agencies) a stopping place for every imcompetent bureaucrat that passes by.
