Resources Ltd (SGV) Mr William Fisher reports The company's richest zinc/lead/silver intersection to date at the Aripuana volcanogenic massive sulphide discovery in Brazil, a 4.3 metre intercept grading 14.13% zinc, 2.66% lead and 213.81 g/t silver. The significance of the latest three holes is that the strike of the deposit has now been extended to at least 225 metres. It also supports the results of earlier geophysical work that suggested the deposit could extend a minimum 500 to 600 metres below surface. The deepest drill hole from the latest results intersected ore-grade mineralization at nearly 300 metres. The deposit remains open along strike in both directions and at depth. Full results are as follows:

All three holes were collared to test the Valley deposit. To the west, the company is also exploring a second deposit, known as the North Ridge, which in preliminary drilling returned values as high as 5% copper and 1.63 g/t gold across 5.8 metres. In the latest results, DDH 17 was a step-out 75 metres to the west of DDH 8, while DDH 18 was a 50-metre step-out to the east of DDH 16, which as previously announced, intersected 6 metres grading 16.1% zinc, 1.6% lead and 132.1 g/t silver. DDH 19 is the deepest hole to date and confirmed mineralization reaches to at least 300 metres, or approaching 1,000 feet below surface. It was designed to test and now strongly supports earlier geophysical work that the deposit has a depth extension of at least 500 metres. The 90-metre mineralized envelope includes an intersection with grades of 10.02% zinc, 2.56% lead and 47.3 g/t silver across 2.91 metres. Most of the holes drilled so far indicate that the VMS deposit displays hot zones of higher grade material at the upper portion of each of the intersections, which confirms that there is continuity to the higher grade portions of the deposit. The company and St Genevieve Resources in joint venture have the right to earn a 70% interest in the project (Ambrex 49%, St. Genevieve 21%) from Ourominas. The venture is well ahead of its obligations. (c) Copyright 1997 Canjex Publishing Ltd.
